Creating safe workplaces

Sexual harassment prevention training

Practical, interactive training designed to build safer, more respectful and compliant workplace cultures.

Why this matters

Training that helps people act with clarity, not uncertainty

Under current legislation, organisations are expected to take proactive, preventative steps to reduce the risk of sexual harassment.

Training is a key part of this - not as a one-off activity, but as something that is revisited regularly to maintain awareness, reinforce expectations, and support a positive workplace culture.

Effective training goes beyond simply completing e-learning. It should create opportunities for people to engage with the content, reflect on real situations, and understand how it applies in practice - particularly for managers and leaders who play a key role in prevention and response.

This is often supported by regular refreshers, ensuring the approach remains active, visible and effective over time.

Track 1

All Staff - Open Session

Overview

This practical, interactive session helps employees understand what sexual harassment is, what’s expected of them, and how everyday behaviours shape workplace culture.

It combines clear, accessible legal context with real-world scenarios and reflection - helping people recognise risk, respond appropriately, and contribute to a safer, more respectful workplace.

The session is designed to be engaging and practical, creating space for discussion while remaining focused and accessible.

This open session brings together participants from a range of organisations and sectors. This creates a valuable learning environment where individuals can hear different perspectives, share experiences, and learn from how other workplaces approach similar challenges.

Who this is for

This session is ideal for organisations who:

  • Want to provide awareness training for all staff
  • Have small teams or individuals who cannot attend a full in house session
  • Want to strengthen culture, behaviour and understanding across their workforce
  • Want to take proactive steps in line with current legislation

Recommendation

We highly recommend to organisations to enrol leaders on both tracks (all staff training and manager/leader training sessions) to ensure shared understanding alongside clear leadership accountability.

Focus areas

  • What sexual harassment is and isn't
  • Legal context and responsibilities under current legislation
  • Everyday behaviours and how boundaries can be crossed
  • Cultural factors and risk areas that enable harassment
  • Creating safer reporting cultures and responding well
  • Practical actions to foster respect, dignity and safety
  • Awareness of wider risks including third-party interactions and organisational responsibility
  • How everyone contributes to a safe, respectful workplace

Outcomes

  • Clear understanding of legal definitions and responsibilities
  • Confidence in recognising inappropriate behaviour
  • Practical ways to contribute to a respectful culture
  • Awareness of how to raise concerns appropriately
  • A renewed focus on everyday behaviours and their impact

Delivery

90 minutes live on Zoom with interactivity (polls, chat, reflection) and breakout discussions with participants from other organisations for a broader range of perspectives.

Track 2

Manager & Leader - Open Session

Overview

This session is designed specifically for managers and leaders, focusing on their responsibility to prevent, identify and respond to sexual harassment in a practical, confident and legally informed way.

While it builds on core awareness, this session goes further - equipping leaders with the judgement, decision making confidence and practical approaches needed to handle real situations, manage risk, and actively shape a safe workplace culture.

This open session brings together leaders from different organisations and sectors, creating valuable opportunities to explore how different workplaces approach risk, decision making and culture and to learn from a broader range of real world perspectives.

Who this is for

  • Line managers, supervisors and team leaders
  • Senior leaders responsible for culture and compliance
  • Organisations wanting to strengthen leadership capability in this area
  • Managers who need clarity on how to act when concerns arise

Recommendation

We highly recommend to organisations to enrol leaders on both tracks (all staff training and manager/leader training sessions) to ensure shared understanding alongside clear leadership accountability.

Focus areas

  • Leadership responsibility and accountability
  • What "reasonable steps" could look like in practice
  • Identifying early warning signs and behavioural patterns
  • Handling concerns (informal and formal)
  • Decision-making in complex or "grey area" situations
  • Creating a culture where people feel safe to speak up
  • Understanding organisational and third-party risks

Outcomes

  • Confidence in how to respond to concerns and situations
  • Clear understanding of your responsibilities as a leader
  • Practical approaches to handling conversations and decisions
  • Greater awareness of risk areas and how to act early
  • Tools to create a culture where people feel safe to speak up

Delivery

90 minutes live on Zoom with interactivity (polls, chat, reflection) and breakout discussions with participants from other organisations for a broader range of perspectives.

Trust & social proof

Feedback that reflects practical impact

It was a very helpful opener and got the team thinking practically about culture and communication.

I valued that the content was informative, short and 'snappy' while still being meaningful.

The interactive parts were particularly helpful for applying the learning.

It was valuable having open space to talk concerns — including how 1:1s support a safer culture.

A key principle I'm taking away is that impact matters more than intention.

It reinforced that policy only works if everyone understands it and takes it seriously.

The explanation of the legal definitions and changes in the law was clear and easy to follow.

It helped me think more intentionally about creating a culture that is open, honest and safe for reporting.

I appreciated that the legal content was engaging and applicable — it could have been heavy but wasn't.

The pace of the session was great and kept the group engaged.
